SIMON EKRELIUS : “THE MEETING” : AUTUMN | WINTER 2012-13

“The Meeting” is inspired by DNA’s evolving double helix and notorious femmes-brigandes like Bonnie Parker and Patty Hearst – dramatic revolutionaries with savvy style. In modern times, crime and genetics have become intertwined.

This girl doesn’t rob for money nor kill.

She steals feelings and lures victims into confusion ...

Fingerprints, hair, even the egg - this collection translates history’s voleuses into the future, where money has gone and only life credits are left.

The options become more limited.

This way requires very special skills to survive ...

The collection includes capes, coats, dresses, tops, trousers and skirts using faux fur, cotton poplin, cotton/poly jersey, silk jersey, viscose jersey, nylon, leatherette and silk chiffon in black, grey and yellow shades.

There are characteristically ingenious prints on 100% silk jersey with lines linking them together - using black, grey and yellow as signs for warning and alarm. The panels are varied and unique yet perfectly linked, making the unique whole.

London-based Swedish designer Simon Ekrelius has been published in forward thinking press such as Elle Japan, Virgine, Dazed and Confused, as well as a multitude of progressive publications.

Prior collections have been shown in London, Paris and Stockholm.  The eponymous label is available in the UK, Italy and online.
