Constellation Collection Now Available @ Melissa Harris Jewellery

Constellation Collection

Inspired by the symbols of antiquity and minimalism, DANIELLE BIRRITTELLA elemental objects in gold and precious stone with her jewellery Ella Poe.  Her debut collection, THE CONSTELLATIONS, is a timeless tribute to the zodiac, each work reflecting a fascination with the stories of stars.

Danielle's life is marked by polarities. Born into a Hindu Ashram and raised by American entrepreneurs, her challenge has been to unify these distinct worlds.  From a young age Danielle designed and created her own jewellery. While undergoing intensive training as an opera singer in New York City, studying romances languages and delving into the mythology of performance, Danielle began crafting and selling her designs to support her studies.  Ever the gypsy, the designer's wanderlust led her to find inspiration in Turkey, Romania, India, and Cuba. Captivated by the mysticism of those lands, she made it her mission to create a line of wearable art steeped in the ritual of adornment.

Her jewellery was an instant success.

Now available at Melissa Harris Jewellery.

Beautiful Love Letters by Melissa Harris

The LOVE LETTERS collection by Melissa Harris is inspired by this designer's current obsession with typography and the changing landscape of communication, which may see the eventual demise of the art of putting pen to paper.

The collection features delicate pendant necklaces, fine chain bracelets complete with personalised initials, as well as bangles, rings and drop earrings.

The Love Letters cuff is made of four ‘letters’ joined together. The edges of the silver are burned to recreate parchment paper from days gone by. The cuffs also invite customisation – customers can request personal musings and messages or perhaps have a love letter of their own, to make into a beautiful keepsake for all time.

Melissa Harris's exquisite jewellery has long adorned the likes of celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Jodie Foster, Lara Bingle and Elton John.

Her boutique is located in Sydney's Paddington - in the mecca for jewellery lovers - and houses her own gorgeous hand crafted pieces as well as international brands:  Me&Ro, Siobhan Way, Kristina Brenke, Sue Girdwood and Whitney Howard.

Currently in store is a beautiful cuff with this message – one of Melissa’s favourites.

“And suddenly we see that love costs all we are and will ever be. Yet it is only love
which sets us free.”

- Maya Angelou.

Its available in white, rose and yellow gold as well as sterling silver, the Love Letters collections starts at $495.

Dress:  Floating On A Cloud

"This summer it's all about colours, leather, draping and sporty luxe" -  Zara Bryson

“This summer there is a real leaning toward the colour palette of the 70's,” says Zara. We will see soft and
feminine pastel hues, such as pale blues, soft pinks, lilac, nude and lemon. The traditional safari suit colours of khaki and beige are being refreshed and revived with white to make a real statement. Classic navy blue, that was very present this winter, will continue to be big in summer 2010/11. You’ll definitely see it on cute dresses – it’s an integral part of this summer's paint splashed prints.

S U M M E R    L E A T H E R
Everyone is realising that the leather jacket truly is a staple item in every woman’s wardrobe. This summer, make leather an essential piece of your wardrobe with fitted leather pants paired back with a soft tee or silk shirt or throw a butter soft leather vest over a light-as-air chiffon dress for an up-to-the-minute look!

This summer moves away from winters structured, bodycon look. Summer 2010/11 will be flattering drapery in easy shapes such as silky harem pants (try styles by OBUS and Yuxin Bei), soft maxi dresses in silks and jerseys (Hopetown and Carly Hunter have these nailed) and cowl neck shifts (try Garth Cook's molten draped dress in black or mid-blue).  It’s about easy glamour. Drapery always looks elegant and it doesn’t look like you've tried too hard! The other great thing is that these styles work so well day-to-night.

S P O R T S - L U X E
If you’re rushing from here to there all summer long, then try dressing in a sporty yet glam style. Think LA and Bondi fashionista’s for inspiration. Layer tanks with mesh sports bras, wear your favourite feminine dress over a pair of sheer bike shorts and try paneled leggings with a jersey tunicLonely Hearts, Hopetown and Evil Twin can help you out with sports-luxe styles.

There you go, armed with this knowledge you can't go wrong!

Come re-live your childhood as artist Jesse Willesee converts a Sydney club into a grown-up childhood paradise of cubby houses, cowboys and Indians, games, party bags – and some very adult colourful drinks!
Climb in the artist-built cubby installations with some spiked cordial in hand and watch a one-of-a-kind fashion and art installation, featuring a fashion show from hot cult labels FTW and Kalindy Millions, unfold around you.
Childish wildness will ensue!
This is the first night in Jesse Willesee’s EVENINGS IN ESTHETICA one-night-only, art party series – set to revolutionise the boundaries between art show and party with high concept, completely interactive installations offering a hell of a lot more than a night at the pub.
Jesse, the artist behind the wildly successful Paintings in Hotel Rooms and Seven Hundred Photos seven-room interactive installations, held inside the actual hotel rooms of Sydney’s Darlo Bar, has arrived back in Sydney after launching his latest high-concept installation in Hollywood.
With an all-new premise, he’s once again playing with the boundaries of space, art and audience, inviting punters to become the art at the rollicking art party of the year, for ONE NIGHT ONLY as always. Be there, or miss out!
The show opens at 7pm and fashion exhibit begins at 8pm.
EVENINGS IN ESTHETICA launches Wednesday October 13 from 7pm to 12am at Name This Bar, 197 Oxford St, Taylor Square.
